Nongshim announce sponsorship partnership with English Football League team

Nongshim, South Korea뭩 No1 noodle manufacturer is delighted to announce a ground-breaking sponsorship with AFC Wimbledon the Football League Two side. The deal which will run until the end of the season will see the newly built 멞orth Stand be re-named as the 멞ongshim Stand with brand advertising adorning the pitch-facing front of the stand.

The deal was negotiated by Korea Foods, based locally to AFC Wimbledon in New Malden which is known as London뭩 멚orea Town. It is the first part of activity Korea Foods has instigated in their plans to increase brand awareness of Korean products whilst trying to encourage the Korean community to integrate into their local community. Working closely with Nongshim, Korea Foods has already extended the 멣hin Cup listing to over 320 Asda stores with a new listing with major supermarket chain to be announced in the coming weeks.

A major part of the sponsorship agreement is for sampling events to be carried out at three AFC Wimbledon home matches including the game versus Port Vale on the 24th January which is scheduled to be shown live on Sky Sports. The first sampling event took place prior to the match with Wycombe Wanderers giving the fans the opportunity a chance to try different Nongshim noodles and snacks

Dan Suh, Managing Director of Korea Foods said: 밯e are constantly looking at ways we can introduce Korean foods to a wider audience and integrate the Korean and English communities. AFC Wimbledon are based so close to what is known as London뭩 Korea town in New Malden that the partnership with one of the largest Korean brands makes sense.

Charlie Kim, Team Manager of International Sales at Nongshim said: 밯e are delighted to be able to support AFC Wimbledon and give their fans the chance to sample some of our products. We watched the game vs Torquay with Korea Foods and despite the result we loved the atmosphere within the stadium.

Ivor Heller, AFC Wimbledon Commercial Director gave his views on the new international partnership "It is fantastic to have an organisation such as Nongshim on board. As well as bringing in much needed revenue to the club it also gives both parties the opportunity to work on exciting projects with the Korean community we have on our doorstep. I would like to thank all at Nongshim for their hard work on this sponsorship and we look forward to working together."
